I have been given a Scot which is getting some much needed attention after years of sitting under a tree. She was built in Wichita Kansas and is basicly sound with exception of all exposed wood and soft spots in the port aft deck, the floor fwd of aft deck and port fwd cockpit floor. Fortunatly I have some nice mahogany so replacing the wood is no problem. Also, I have some experience in fiberglass work so that is not too intimidating. With a recoring job, can high density foam be used to replace balsa and still retain the FS racing capability? It is doubtful that this vessel is worth the work and expense involved in a complete recoreing with the cost of balsa panels.

Walter: I recently came into possesion of FS #1232 which is in dire need of balsa core work and was wondering the same thaing as u re the hi density foam rather than balsa. Did you ever get any responses and/or did you make a decision? Mine also is not worth a heavy investment to me. thanks ron
